Our Partner in DRC - Rogatien

The Ministry

In 2012, Rogatien Mukangwa moved from the town of Bukavu to the city of Ariwara. According to Rogatien, “That same year I received a mandate from God to begin a new vision.” In 2014 he married Sylvie and together, in 2015, they planted a church where they continue to serve. However, it took eight more years for Rogatien to discover Disciplers International and the training they offered that would soon revolutionize his ministry. Under the guidance of another pastor from DRC, who also serves as a Ministry Partner with Disciplers International, Rogatien received the kind of specialized trained that he had lacked. His ministry focus now is not just to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, but to develop Disciples of Christ into Disciplers for Christ.

The Vision

My vision comes from God’s vision for His people, which is presented succinctly in Exodus 19:6 - You shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation, and Revelation 5:10 - You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.

We train people to discover the talents and spiritual gifts that the Holy Spirit has placed in them, and to put those gifts into practice for the benefit of others and and for the glory of God. Additionally, our long-term vision includes the following projects that God has put on our hearts:

- Opening a Language School to help missionaries learn different languages to communicate easily and effectively with different people worldwide and to share the Gospel.

- Opening a Discipleship School the focuses on developing Disciples of Christ into Disciplers for Christ.

- Purchasing 20 hectares of land to grow crops and raise livestock as a means to generate income.

The Impact

Many have come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord through Rogatien's evangelistic efforts in the secondary schools, in the marketplace, in the streets, and in the neighborhoods through door-to-door visitation. As a result, many believers have been baptized and are now being trained in the Step-by-Step Discipleship Process

Our passion is to continue reaching many people with the Gospel and to accomplish the Great Commission presented by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20 - Go therefore and Make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always to the end of the age.
