About Us
Our Mission
To provide discipleship training and resources for Believers in Christ who want to grow spiritually from Disciples of Christ to Disciplers for Christ and then repeat the process. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Our Vision
To fulfill the Great Commission by establishing Partnership Teams that effectively apply a Discipleship Strategy to reach indigenous people living on every continent worldwide. (2 Timothy 2:2 )

How It All Began
It all started after I expressed to a friend and businessman my passion for discipleship. He responded by asking this question: “Have you ever thought about starting a nonprofit ministry for that purpose?” The thought had not crossed my mind, and after telling him so, my friend said, “I’m willing to help make that happen if you’re willing.” So, in 2006, Disciplers International was established as a 501c3, and our commitment to the Great Commission of Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20) has remained our priority ever since then.
Discipleship has been the passion of my heart since my journey with Jesus began in 1977. Before Disciplers International was established, I spent many years and countless hours crafting and testing discipleship training materials for the purpose of growing Disciples of Christ into Disciplers for Christ. In 2000, I produced the first editions of the Discipler’s Guidebook & Disciple’s Workbook. Over the years those materials were refined and updated many times. Then, in 2022, Disciplers International released a new presentation of the training that is called Step-by-Step. My hope and prayer is for the Lord to use what we have to offer as He fulfills the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. To Him be all glory and honor and praise!

What We Believe
We believe the Bible is inspired by God, was conveyed through people chosen by God to bring His message, and is the ultimate authority in matters of faith and practice.
We believe in one God who is one in essence, triune in nature (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), and revealed in the Scriptures as the Eternal Creator, Sovereign Lord, Holy God, who is All-Powerful, All-Present, All-Knowing and All-Loving (see Guide to Worship).
We believe that all of humanity is separated from God through sin. Salvation is God’s gift to those who realize their sin, repent of sin and receive God’s forgiveness in Christ, believing that Jesus died to pay the price of sin, joining Him in death to sin, and joining Him in resurrection to eternal life by grace through faith (see Prayer of Commitment).
Disciplers International agrees with the confession of faith stated in the Apostles Creed, and presented below in contemporary language.
We believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Our Global Missions
In 2012, Patrick Readson, a Pastor in Malawi, Africa, walked into an internet café for the first time in his life and searched for “discipleship” on a computer hoping to find a resource to help him grow in his Christian faith. His search led him to the website of Disciplers International, and he immediately sent an email requesting to participate in their free discipleship training.
After completing the Discipleship Process, Patrick used the training resource material to disciple hundreds of new believers. The church that he and his wife, Mervis, started in Blantyre, Malawi, has multiplied from 1 to over 30 congregations in Malawi and Mozambique.
As Paul exhorted his disciple, Timothy, to “entrust these [teachings] to faithful men who will be able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2), Patrick and Mervis continue to encourage, train and equip fellow believers through the Discipleship Process. Disciplers International is pleased to partner with the Readsons to support God’s work in Malawi and throughout Africa.

Haus Church
Haus Church first started out as a Bible study in Heidelberg, Germany where Bart was stationed as an Army Chaplain in 2000. The Bible study met in Bart & Dawn’s home, which is where Haus Church got its name – “haus” meaning home in German. In 2019, Haus Church was relaunched as an online worship service after the COVID restrictions prevented people from gathering in local churches.
That’s how it started, and it’s been an amazing experience connecting and worshiping with people from all over the globe. The Haus Church funds mission work in Africa through Disciplers International donations and we are able to join our missionaries for online worship on Sundays. Join us each Sunday at 10AM Eastern Time.
