Our Partner in India - Jitendra
The Ministry
Jitendra is deeply convinced that people are eternally lost without Jesus Christ, believing that He alone is the answer to every human need and question. With this conviction, he and his family are actively engaged in evangelism, church planting and disciple-making in the remote regions of eastern India. They are committed to reaching all people groups in India and Southeast Asia. In addition to leading a church in a slum area of Khordha among Dalit communities, who are often socially and religiously marginalized. Jitendra is also involved in six other villages, five of which have no church to attend within a 50-kilometer (30 mile) radius. This highlights the great need for outreach and spiritual care to those living in these areas.
The Vision
Jitendra is convinced that the Great Commission of Jesus Christ has not yet been fully or faithfully realized in India. Christians still comprise only about 2.5% of a population exceeding 1.4 billion. This reality weighs heavily on his heart, especially as vast numbers of villages remain without a clear Gospel witness—many lacking even a single local church.
He also recognizes a significant gap in disciple-making within many churches. As a result, many remain attendees rather than active participants in God’s mission, and the multiplication of faith and leadership is limited. In response to this need, Jitendra carries a compelling vision to see a movement of disciple-makers raised up in every church across India and Southeast Asia. In Odisha, the state where he lives, Jitendra has a vision to reach 450 villages with the gospel and Step-by-Step Discipleship Training.
The Impact
Since completing Step-by-Step training in 2024, Jitendra has been deeply impacted by the ministry of Disciplers International and now faithfully implements what he has learned in one-on-one mentoring sessions and small group settings. He is committed to passing on what he has been given by helping others grow in their faith, equipping them to disciple others likewise.
Jitendra’s passion is to see Disciples of Christ become Disciplers for Christ, thus creating a multiplying movement. The journey so far has been very meaningful, and he now looks forward with great expectation to seeing the emergence of 3rd and 4th generation Disciplers living transformed lives and multiplying this ministry for lasting Kingdom impact.
