God is Transforming Lives in Kenya
by Patrick Amtallan
I am Patrick Amtallan from Nairobi, Kenya. My mission is to reach every corner of my nation with the gospel and then to disciple those who respond, according to the Great Commission of Christ. The transformation of individuals and even entire families is the goal of our Christian community, which is a thriving fellowship of both men and women. Presently, I’m equipping 30+ men by taking them through the Step-by-Step Discipleship Process, which I see as a means for the spiritual transformation of Kenya and beyond.
This photos were taking at our recent Disciplers International Step-by-Step Training training session. There is a growing hunger and thirst on the hearts of men in Kenya, which I attribute to a revival that is ready to happen. There is a saying in our local dialect that where men are, things are better, but right now in Kenya it is the women and not the men who attend church and fill the pews. Men think that women go to church to represent them, and that God’s grace is all they need to enter heaven.
This is where Disciplers International comes in to correct their misguided philosophy, and direct them to Jesus, who said, “I am the way, life, and truth; no one comes to the Father except through Me.” Salvation is by grace through faith in our Savior and Lord. For years men have not been faithful, neglecting their God-given role as spiritual leaders in their homes. The Lord expects more of them, and so do we.
Brother Adam Musa (on the left) with a fellow brother in Christ
This is the testimony of Brother Adam Musa, who is an Arab from the Republic of Chad in Central Africa. Sadly, Central Africa is a troubled region with civil wars and frequent coups. Brother Adam is on the left in the white shirt with another brother standing next to him. It’s encouraging to hear from brothers in the Muslim world…
I write these words not just to speak of the past, but to share a part of the journey that has shaped my life, to express how much it cost me to follow Christ, and to show how much this training means to me. It's far more than just pages or lessons; it's life itself.
I paid a high price when I chose to follow Jesus. It was not an easy decision, and the path was far from smooth. I was the only Christian in my tribe, and that was enough to make me a stranger in my own home, rejected by my community, and silently accused with every glance.
I faced challenges in every form: rejection, loneliness, pain – even moments of total helplessness. Yet through it all, I learned to fix my eyes on Jesus, the One who died for me and never turned away from me, not even once. Yes, I was weary, and I suffered, and I cried. But not for a single moment did I regret choosing Him. Because I know who my Savior is, and I have tasted His grace that lifts me every time I fall.
Today, this Discipleship Process is not just an educational tool – it is a chance to regain myself, to heal from within, and to allow God to reshape my heart. It is the path for me to be equipped and ready, so I can become a light in the darkness that still surrounds my community. The Lord didn’t rescue me from the fire so I could live for myself alone, but He rescued me so that I might become His voice and a living witness to His grace in the very place where I once stood alone.
I hope you can understand the depth of what this journey means to me. These are not just words of a story, they are the cry of a heart hungry for God, longing to serve Him, even if it costs me my very life.
With deep love and hope,
Adam Musa
I also want to recognize pastors from the West African countries of Sierra Leon, Ghana, Benin, and Niger, who are going through the Step-by-Step Process now. It’s our prayer that the Step-by-Step Training provided through Disciplers International will reach all of Africa as the Lord leads.
