Our Partner in Uganda - James
The Ministry
James and Jesca Opolot are the founders of Gospel Outreach Mission in Mbale city, Uganda. They established a church-planting / disciple-making ministry for the purpose of touching the lives of millions of people with the good news of Jesus Christ. With His Great Commission in view, they employ the Step-by-Step Process to provide willing believers in Uganda and beyond with the tools they need to train others and plant churches. The goal is to see one new house church planted in every neighborhood of 200 people, not only in our country but in every nation on earth. For this to happen requires 35 million new house churches worldwide. God is able if we are willing!
The Vision
Our vision is God’s Vision, which is the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus, who commands us to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:18-20). We also follow the Apostle Paul’s call to “train faithful people who will teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2). Their vision was big, so our vision is big. Our intent is to utilize the Step-by-Step Process to make disciples in every neighborhood, village, city, province and nation of the world.
These efforts are currently underway in Uganda and Kenya. Most recently, the Lord opened a door for us in the Singida region of Central Tanzania where I have started Step-by-Step Training via Zoom with a pastor from that country.
The Impact
We are grateful to God for the partnership we have with Disciplers International that supports us with training and resources to reach the least, the lost, and the last with the good news of Jesus Christ. Through their generosity, we have been able to implement these ministry projects:
Carpentry Training Center to equip former warriors with skills needed for livelihood (plus a discipleship center).
Farm transformation from subsistence to commercial, resulting in better food security, nutrition, and income.
Educational opportunities that provide orphans with access to schooling and vocational training for life skills and jobs.
The orphans, vulnerable children, widows and former warriors are very grateful to Disciplers International for helping to meet their physical and spiritual needs.
